Two brothers at a kitchen table, the morning's coffee cups still out. A pair of vending machines, out of order, stranded at the edge of the road. A building wrapped in plastic sheeting, caught mid-transformation. An albatross, gliding over open water.

These are four of the twelve photographs that make up Persona - an exhibition of original black and white photography by BresicWhitney's in-house creative team. Not only is this exhibit the first of its kind, with all works available to purchase, but will also donate 100% of its proceeds to Studio A.

Studio A is an organisation founded in 2016 by Gabrielle Mordy and Emma Johnston, to build help establish paid, professional career pathways for artists with intellectual disability - pathways that, before Studio A, largely didn't exist.

The results speak for themselves. Studio A artists have been finalists in the Archibald and Sulman Prizes 25 times since 2020, most recently in 2026, with Archibald portraits by Meagan Pelham (of Jessica Rowe), Thom Roberts (of Oliver Watts) and Daniel Kim (of Lesleigh Jermanus). Beyond the gallery wall, Studio A artists have collaborated with Mud Australia, Sydney Theatre Company, Romance Was Born and Alémais on capsule collections, public art installations and education programs built around access and inclusion.

Gabrielle Mordy attended the opening of Persona alongside Studio A artist Lex Tan, and spoke to the mission that has driven the studio for a decade.

"Our ambition has always been for Studio A artists to be recognised and valued as professional artists, and for their voices to be part of contemporary Australian culture," she said. "Support from partners like BresicWhitney helps us create the opportunities, visibility and pathways to make that possible."

BresicWhitney CEO Will Gosse echoed the sentiment. "Art is taken seriously when the artists are. We're immensely proud to partner with Studio A, and grateful to contribute to their continued success and that of their artists."

For Gosse, the project is personal as well as philanthropic. Photography, he says, is a powerful visual language - one that's integral to how BresicWhitney thinks and works, and deeply meaningful to the team behind the camera. "Our creative team demonstrate their skill and craft every day, and we're a better business for it. Persona aims to celebrate that in a more abstract and expressive way."

Persona is showing now at BresicWhitney's Inner East office in Darlinghurst, Sydney. Prints start at $106 and are available in a range of sizes - purchase online through the BW Store, with every print sold supporting Studio A's ongoing work.
